River Spey sparkles after all the rainfall.

Wonderful River Spey is still flowing high following rains of last week but now, after yesterday's rainbows, the river sparkles in the sunshine on this beautiful day in Strathspey.

Intro/Improvers Day Paddling from Kincraig to Aviemore.

Despite heavy rain throughout most of their journey, my 6 lovely clients on Sunday's Intro/Improvers Session had a lovely time on the River Spey ~ travelling from Kincraig to Aviemore ~ an ideal section to introduce novice paddlers and practice strokes. Lovely lush river banks with alder trees gracefully reaching out over the river.

Local information for Kayakists and Rafters.

Kayakists/Play-boaters/Rafters familiar with the Spey between Ballindalloch & Knockando Station will be disappointed to learn that following recent excavation work to remove the large croy/groyne, river left at the entrance to Polarder Pool, the excellent play-wave at this location (GR181408) no longer exists.

Newtonmore Doctors on the River Spey

Yesterday was a wonderful day on an upper section of the lovely Spey above Newtonmore, with doctors and support staff from local GP's practice. Blue skies and warm sunshine ~ so warm some said capsize was a bonus!!
